A-Zoo is a comprehensive mobile app concept designed to transform the way users experience zoos, aquariums, and animal parks. Built around the idea of accessibility and discovery, the app allows users to search nearby locations based on specific animals, making it easy to answer questions like “Where can I see a ring-tailed lemur?” or “Which aquarium has narwhals?” The goal was to eliminate uncertainty and elevate a typical visit into a fully planned, intuitive, and engaging animal adventure for users of all ages.
The project began with extensive audience research, including the development of detailed user personas and storyboards that mapped out the needs of families, casual visitors, and dedicated animal enthusiasts. These insights informed key features such as proximity-based park search, real-time animal availability, and interactive in-park navigation. A strong emphasis was placed on designing for both children and adults, ensuring the experience remained playful and visually engaging while still delivering clear, functional information.

From a design perspective, I developed a complete branding and visual identity system, including multiple logo iterations, a bright and character-driven aesthetic, and a cohesive UI language that carried across all touchpoints. The app experience was built through wireframing, low-fidelity prototyping, and ultimately a fully realized high-fidelity prototype.
The project was recognized at Catawba Valley Community College’s Shark Tank–style app design showcase, where it earned 2nd place among competing concepts. It was also submitted to the Adobe National Competition, where I was selected to represent the state of North Carolina alongside 49 other competitors nationwide. As one of my most in-depth and fully realized projects, A-Zoo highlights my ability to blend research, branding, UX strategy, and interactive design into a cohesive, user-centered product experience.
